Meet the women
Fifty-six women wrote in the diaries. The 42 who stayed for all five days are told here as full portraits: a written portrait, her five days, her lifeline and her letter to her future self. The other 14 left the study after one to four days; each has her own shorter page, with the days she wrote in her own words. Every woman is named by a pseudonym and, where she gave one, by the superpower she named herself.
